This week I had a lovely letter from a customer, Christine, encouraging me to "carry on with your crusade for older ladies who want to look good." And then she wrote: "Do you have any influence with the fashion industry? When will they realise that we've not the same shape as 20 year olds and that we want to look good. I will never be old enough to wear sensible shoes or the M&S Classic range!!!"Â

I LOVE your advice to the fashion industry!! At 62, my upper arms need disguising, and so do my knees, but most summer dresses are sleeveless and short. Maybe the fabrics in those areas could be lighter, and semi-see-through, just enough to fool the eye a bit. Guess I'll have to learn to sew...
Thanks for your efforts!

I love Boden clothes, they are classic, fun, well cut and very good quality. Expensive yes - but look on ebay for incredible bargains. Also Uniqlo for long sleeved tee shirts, and shirts, in fashionable fabrics and colours. I never shop in M & S, too frumpy and cheap looking. As for Twiggy's range, I never see pictures of her out and about actually wearing the stuff!
Having just returned from the hair salon, where I love to browse the current fashion glossies, it occurred to me that though a lot of the clothes are beautiful, they are only for the young. Where are the fashion magazines for older women? I love sky high heels, but need something lower now but still fashionable. RED magazine had an anti ageing feature on Helena Christiansen - please! She is 46, she should look great at that age!
Love your website Tricia, your tutorials have made such a difference to my make up - I no longer have 'sad' eyes. Thank you!

Well said Tricia! I too would love to see a less plunging neckline and more width to sleeves - and sleeves in a variety of lengths - short for warmer days, elbow length, 3/4 length and long - as many designs as they can come up with!! I would also love to see neat jackets - light wiegh that can be worn instead of a cardigan - as they can be so ageing - and though I have to use M&S - our stores are very limited, carry very small stock and are mainly for youthful "skinny minnies" as my daughter would say - on my island home - I will never be old enough for the "classic" ranges - it is just so FRUMPY!! and makes me look so much fatter than I am - at 5 feet tall and a size 12 I feel I am the right size for my age( 63) - but the classic range feels so old fashioned - and is made in horrible fabrics! Keep up the good work Tricia - we "middle age" ladies - and I include our 90 plus ladies in that - since age is really a state of mind - I have worked with some very "OLD" 19 yr olds! Love your make up range and am now ell on the way to replacing all my previously used make up ranges to yours. Kindest regards - J x
