Who knew that my quest to find some classy glasses would touch such a nerve for all of us trying not to morph into our grandmothers? Last month I mentioned in my blog ‘Who are You Calling a Little Old Lady?’ about my challenge in finding some interesting and stylish specs after a dispriting visit to a couple of the High Street chains of opticians. In Vision Express, the only pair which I could imagine wanting to wear had a ‘designer’ label and the frames alone cost £450, which I felt was truly exorbitant for a bit of grey plastic.

Great article. I have 2 pair of readers and looking for more: I have a tortoise shell and also a red pair.
I get many compliments on them. I am looking for a blue pair and also a cinnamon color next.
Reading glasses can be fun...and why not! If we don't buy the old lady glasses perhaps they will not offer them.

I love reading your blog and I also want to say it was a pleasure meeting you at your Guildford pop up shop when I came in for a makeover. Although I have most of the products it was a lovely experience just to see how to use your products.

Very interesting article, i have a few colourful frames i've managed to pick up at reasonable prices over the years from supersavers and independents,, but last time i looked in my independent optician they were £400ish for just the frame. as i am moving towards the need for verifocals i may need new ones that are bigger, so i may try out your Ollie! i also found some colourful ones in ray ban in covent garden, they do normal glasses and eye tests apparently. I love colourful glasses, even my new sunglasses are colourful. I would love to know where Pru buys hers, they are fab. thank you for listing where clothes are purchased, i've just ordered a few things from the Pure Collection! keep up the good work.

Hi Tricia. I look forward to reading your emails on Sunday mornings. The LOL one made me lol. Totally agree with your comments about glasses, having worn them myself for 60+ years. You look great in your new frames. Prue Leith inspired me to be a bit more adventurous. I go to an independent optician locally (Eyes Open) and find the choice and personal attention far superior to the 'chains'. Please don't stop your emails, I'm sure many others like me love the Sunday boost. And 'bring back brows' is my hero product. Kind regards Marilyn.
